Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival Unveils 2023 Lineup: Foo Fighters, Odesza, Kendrick Lamar and More

Today, the beloved music festival Bonnaroo announced who will join them on The Farm in Manchester, Tenn., on June 15-18, 2023. The festival, known for its spirit of musical collaboration and excellence, will be headlined by Kendrick Lamar, Odesza and Foo Fighters.

“[Today’s lineup] is a manifestation of a year’s worth of work,” lead festival booker for C3 and Bonnaroo Bryan Benson told Relix. “Our team works really hard on trying to get this right every year, and today we really celebrate for a lot of people. It’s like Christmas morning or better.”

The first day of Bonnaroo, Thursday, June 15, will kick off with appearances by Zeds Dead, Liquid Stranger, Abraham Alexander, New Orlean’s own Big Freedia, Celisse, Ezra Furman, and Neighbor, not to mention several others to get the embers of the festival blazing.

Lamar will headline the first full day of Bonnaroo on Friday, June 16, marking his second-ever performance at The Farm following his appearance in 2015, where he performed songs from his second studio LP, good kid, m.A.A.d city. He has since won a Pulitzer Prize for Music and has been certified 3× Platinum. Friday will also see performances by Baby Keem, Vulfpeck, GRiZ, Portugal. The Man, Fleet Foxes, Sylvan Esso and more.

Saturday, June 17, will be headlined by returning electronic music duo Odesza and welcome sets by Lil Nas X, Tyler Childers, My Morning Jacket, Louis The Child, Korn, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Sheryl Crow, J.I.D, STS9, Sofi Tukker, Big Wild, Bob Moses, Cory Wong and more.

The evening will also host Bonnaroo’s ever-enduring SuperJam. Though details on the collaborative festivities have yet to be shared, the SuperJam has deep seeded roots in musical collaboration, improvisation and experimentation. Many of the artists, including Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, the members of Vulfpeck, Cory Wong, Jacob Collier and more, have carried the same spirit in their own individual endeavors, making ample reason for positive speculation.

Sunday, June 18, will be headlined by Foo Fighters–marking their debut appearance at The Farm and will be one of their first festival performances since the passing of Taylor Hawkins. Though the band was slated to appear at the festival over the past few years, it never came to fruition due to the COVID-19 pandemic and a storm that resulted in the cancellation of the event in 2021.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have one of the first Foo Fighters performances back since Taylor’s death, and what a magical moment that’s gonna be. For it to be on Sunday night, the last set of the festival of what is sure to be a magical weekend,” said Benson. “What better way to end Bonnaroo than Foo Fighters taking the stage at the festival for the first time? Just a celebration, an amazing festival, but also Taylor Hawkins and just the band being back on stage where they belong.”

Sunday will also welcome sets by Paramore, Marcus Mumford, The Revivalists, Alesso, the first Bonnaroo appearance by the Pixies, Umphrey’s McGee, Rebelution, Hippo Campus, Men I Trust, JAUZ, Peach Pit and more.

As always, Bonnaroo has released a carefully curated lineup with not only a little something for everyone but also one with artists and genres that can be mixed and matched, from the biggest headliners to artists that have just broken through.

“Our audience is the best in the world. I’ll say that to anybody that will listen to me,” added Benson. “If there’s one thing I know about the Bonnaroo fans is that if there’s not a name on the poster that they know, they’ll know it comes June because they’ll do the research, they’ll listen, they’ll get excited. That’s my favorite part.”
