Bob Dylan continues to shake things up as he works his way through Europe. Last night, at Dusseldorf, Germany’s Mitsubishi Electric Halle, those surprises included the revival of another track off his 1997 comeback album Time Out of Mind.

Ten songs into his set, Dylan busted out the LP’s haunting centerpiece “Not Dark Yet” for the first time since December 8, 2019. The number mostly remained in Dylan’s regular rotation from its 1997 debut through 2012. But, with the exception of the nearly 40 times he played “Not Dark Yet” in 2019, he has not touched the cherished track in recent years, while he largely stuck to a stock set of songs on the Rough & Rowdy Ways Tour that kicked off in 2021.

“Not Dark Yet” was one of four Time Out of Mind tunes that Dylan offered yesterday. The others he elected to work into the show included the single “Love Sick,” which has been a staple throughout 2026 but was only performed for the first time on this European tour in Germany on Sunday, and “Million Miles,” which Dylan pulled off the shelf for the first time since 2014 at the same gig. Yesterday he also ran through the Time Out of Mind selection “Tryin’ to Get to Heaven,” which he dusted off for the first time since December 8, 2019, at Lincoln, CA’s Thunder Valley Casino in June and has continued to showcase throughout the year. The only other album Dylan played four songs from at Mitsubishi Electric Halle was his most recent collection of original material, the 2020 release Rough and Rowdy Ways.

Dylan will appear at Merksem, Belgium’s Lotto Arena tomorrow.
