After a celebrated pair of symphonic engagements at New York’s Carnegie Hall and Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl last summer, Beck has announced plans to take that format on the road with a new orchestral tour. From July 15-29, the acclaimed singer-songwriter will reinvent selections from his three-decade discography across the US and Canada, delivering nine performances with support from local symphonies.
Beck will set off his orchestral tour with a show at New Haven, Conn.’s Westville Music Bowl, where he’ll be joined by The Westville Philharmonic. The indie figurehead will quickly cross over to Canada with stands at Montreal’s Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier on July 16 and Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall on July 18 and 19–the lone double-header of the series. He’ll truck down to the Midwest for stands at Cincinnati’s PNC Pavilion at Riverbend Music Center and Highland Park, Ill.’s Ravinia Festival on July 21 and 23, where he’ll be joined by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Chicago Symphony Orchestra, respectively.
On July 26 and 27 Beck will connect with the renowned Colorado Symphony for performances at Colorado Springs, Colo.’s Ford Amphitheatre on July 26 and Morrison, Colo.’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 27. Finally, to close out the run, he’ll venture to San Diego’s Rady Shell for a July 29 collaboration with the San Diego Symphony. Beck will be supported on each stop by Molly Lewis, and a release teases entries from Odelay, Mutations, Sea Change and Morning Phase comprising the setlist, among others.
Tickets for Beck’s summer orchestral tour are available for presale now, with a general on-sale set to follow this Friday, March 7 at 10 a.m. local time. For more information, visit beck.com/#tour.
