Sunday Daydream Vol. 4 Adds Phil Lesh & Friends and Sam Grisman Project to August Schedule

Phil Lesh & Friends have signed on as headliners for Sunday Daydream Vol. 4, slated to take place on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at McNears Beach Park in San Rafael, Calif. News of added performances arrives after March’s release of the festival date. Also featured in today’s announcement is Sam Grisman Project, which will pay tribute to the musical legacy of Jerry Garcia and David Grisman during the late-summer gathering in The Bay.

The impending Phil & Friends lineup is billed to include Taylor Goldsmith, Stu Allen, Holly Bowling, Griffin Goldsmith, Natalie Cressman and Grahame Lesh. Sunday Daydream draws from outdoor concerts at the Terrapin Crossroads brick-and-mortar, which closed its doors in November 2021 by centering the experience around music, family, and quality entertainment.

In the press release, fellow festival participant Sam Grisman shared a note about the intent behind his project format, writing, “The music that my father, David Grisman, and his close friend, Jerry Garcia, made in the early 90s (in the house that I grew up in) is not only some of the most timeless acoustic music ever recorded, it also triggers my oldest and fondest musical memories.”

Before Volume 4, Sunday Daydream’s third edition, on July 21, will feature Phil & Friends, this time with accompaniment from Stanley Jordan, John Molo, Mikaela Davis, Jason Crosby, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, and Grahame Lesh. According to the festival website, an expanded lineup will be available soon.
