Brandi Carlile has expanded her Echoes Through the Canyon weekend event at The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wash. Due to the overwhelming interest in the musical occurrence, The Evergreen State native has tacked on an added day, Sunday, June 11, and revealed that The Highwomen, with special guest Tanya Tucker, have been added to the program.
The forthcoming event will begin on Friday, June 9, with a headlining performance by the weekend’s host, with special guests Marcus Mumford and Allison Russell. To follow, the second day of the event, Saturday, June 10, will feature legendary musician Joni Mitchell, who will return after an extended lapse from the spotlight. Carlile will also participate in what has been dubbed the “Joni Jam.”
Rounding out the musical weekend is The Highwomen’s newly announced Sunday set, which will see the group– Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires join up with special guest Tucker. Moreover, Carlile quickly noted via Instagram (see below) that the Sunday performance would not have a time limit, allowing the talented ensemble to dig into jams and feel the music.
