People at Glastonbury Apparently Do Not Clean Up After Themselves

Dear Lord, Glastonburians. 100,000+ gathered at Worthy Farm nearly two weeks ago and the cleanup is still sadly ongoing, leading The Guardian to speculate if this is in fact the worst cleanup in the festival’s history.

The Guardian notes that the Glastonbury Free Press reported this year’s attendees left 500,000 “sacks of rubbish” (that’s trash for those of you not hip to the UK lingo), 57 TONS of reusable items and 1,022 TONS of recycling. For a festival that prides itself on the “Leave No Trace” mantra, this is unsettling news.

Even more, the cleanup will cost money as a team of 500 are still in the process of clearing the field, with the cleanup estimated to cost £780,000. Sadly, there is also a video of the damage from a rightfully pissed off volunteer. Watch below.
