Newport Jazz Festival Sets Initial 2019 Lineup

 

The Newport Jazz Festival will return to Rhode Island for its 65th iteration this August, and the newly announced lineup is headed up by iconic keyboardist and composer Herbie Hancock, along with Corinne Bailey Rae, The Bad Plus and Buika.

Also included in the list are Terence Blanchard featuring The E-Collective, Sons of Kemet, Makaya McCraven, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Ravi Coltrane + David Virelles, Sun Ra Arkestra directed by Marshall Allen, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, ELEW and more. Newport Jazz Fest will take place at Newport, RI’s Fort Adams State Park and the International Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino on August 2–4. Tickets and more information can be found here.
