After announcing earlier this month that the festival would be moving away from its longtime home at Hunter Mountain, NY, Mountain Jam organizers have confirmed that this year’s gathering—the 15th overall—will be held at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the site where Woodstock took place, along with the fest’s initial lineup, featuring Willie Nelson & Family, Gov’t Mule, The Avett Brothers, The Revivalists, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Michael Franti & Spearhead and more.

More than 40 artists have been confirmed for Mountain Jam 2019, which previously promised fans a “Back to the Jam” ethos for this year’s lineup. Also set for the festival are Amy Helm and JRAD keyboardist Marco Benevento, both of whom live in the Woodstock area, and another Upstate New York group, the Big Takeover. The festival notes that another headliner is set to be announced this spring.

2019 marks more shifts for Mountain Jam than just the location, including the festival’s partnership with promoter Live Nation after working with Townsquare Media the past several years.

Warren Haynes, who helped found the festival hasn’t played it since 2016, and returns this year as a presenter alongside Radio Woodstock.

Another Mountain Jam co-founder, Gary Chetkof, tells the Poughkeepsie Journal that he thinks Bethel Woods “is like the Taj Mahal of sites. What could be more amazing than Bethel Woods and the home of the Woodstock festival? It was really just a matter of going to the promised land.”

Chetkof notes that moving away from Hunter Mountain was “very emotional” and also speaks on the new “Back to the Jam” booking approach, saying that the festival “just didn’t have the right balance” in the past couple of years. “We went a little too younger and a little too hipper than we should have. We learned a lot.”

Tickets for Mountain Jam 2019, which is set for June 13–16 at Bethel Woods, go on sale this Friday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. ET at the festival’s website.
