During Halloween week on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon invited Wilco to perform as they supported their Alpha Mike Foxtrot box set, which featured a number of b-sides and rare tunes from the Chicago band’s vault. While the group delivered “Cars Can’t Escape” for the broadcast, backstage in 30 Rock the band huddled into tight quarters to rework their classic “I’m the Man Who Loves You” with acoustic instruments.

The Yankee Hotel Foxtrot cut was completely reimagined as Nels Cline went to the dobro, Pat Sansone took to banjo and the rest of the band followed suit with a more stripped down arrangement, similar to the way the band has been closing their shows on this recent tour.
