Stephen Colbert’s impressive run of musical guests continued last night as Run the Jewels and TV On the Radio collaborated for a scorching, genre-bending performance as the ensemble came together for Run the Jewels’ “Angel Duster.” TV On the Radio served as the backing band, providing some extra muscle to the already powerful sound of Killer Mike and El-P. Colbert had a particularly funny intro, saying, “Tonight’s musical guest is so hip, their backing band is TV On the Radio.” 

At the end of the performance, El-P dedicated the tune to Jack White’s keyboardist Isaiah “Ikey” Owens and Desiree Zondag. Owens died of a heart attack in Mexico in October 2014 while on tour with Jack White.
