Watch a Crowd Sing Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back in Anger” at Manchester Bombing Memorial

Today, a crowd gathered in Manchester, England, to mourn the 22 lives lost at Manchester Arena following the Ariana Grande concert on Monday night, when a bomber set off an explosion near the entrance to the venue, an action later claimed by the Islamic State organization.

One woman at the gathering, Lydia Bernsmeier-Rullow, honored the dead by taking up the song “Don’t Look Back in Anger” by Manchester’s own Oasis, and her fellow mourners joined her, making for a touching remembrance of the tragedy that also turns an eye to the future. Speaking with The Guardian, Bernsmeier-Rullow says, “I love Manchester, and Oasis is a part of my childhood,” before connecting the song’s theme to her certainty that the people of Manchester will move forward after the horrific incident.

“It really touched my heart and gave me shivers, it really did,” Bernsmeier-Rullow continues, speaking of the crowd joining her in singing the tune. “It’s been a hard few days, but Manchester will recover.”
