Nathaniel Rateliff released his sophomore album with backing band The Night Sweats, the boisterously poignant Tearing at the Seams, earlier this year, and the Denver-based group continues to tour in support of the album, including a stop at Late Night with Seth Meyers last night.

Rateliff and company opted to break out the new album’s title track, a slow-burner that marches from just the singer’s voice and some sparse guitar chords during the first bit of the song to a full-blown, horn-fueled, tent-revival climax that closes it out. And Rateliff certainly doesn’t hold back on his latest late-night TV spot, letting his powerful, guttural voice and yearning lyrics lead the way.
