Video Premiere: Tall Tall Trees “SeagullxEagle”
On February 17, Joyful Noise Recordings released Freedays, the new album from Tall Tall Trees. Freedays (which can be ordered here) is the first record that Mike Savino recorded as a solo project rather than in a group setting. While his principal instrument is the banjo, he draws in many more elements and effects on Freedays.
Today we premiere the animated video for “SeagullxEagle” from Freedays. Director Mike McCoy tells Relix, “The most interesting thing to me is that my wife, Julia, hand painted each individual tree/bush/cloud/etc. Basically everything in the video was painted by itself, scanned, and then arranged in 3D space to create each of the scenes. The birds were animated frame by frame. It was a super fun project, the first time I’ve ever done anything like this!”
