Phish Appear to Have Congregated at The Barn

UPDATE:
After Eliza Anastasio’s post made the rounds earlier today (July 13) showing that Trey is in the barn, a photo has surfaced of bassist Mike Gordon, drummer Jon Fishman and Anastasio in the barn, socially distanced and wearing masks. While keyboardist Page McConnell does not appear in the photo, it can be surmised that he is likely up at the barn with his bandmates.

The photo was posted by the Twitter account @PhishatMSG, and it seems to have first appeared in a Phantasytour thread. It is unclear where the photo originally came from and who took it. Check out the photo below!

Original story:
Phish’s Trey Anastasio looks to be at The Barn, the fabled studio outside Burlington, Vt. that has been the recording site of many Phish albums and is the stuff of Phish legend.

In a video on Anastasio’s daughter Eliza’s Instagram story (which was posted on Twitter by Jambase), the shaggy-haired guitarist can be seen using a hand-sanitizer-dispensing contraption made with a hi-hat stand. “Revolutionary,” read the caption, as Anastasio applied hand-sanitizer to the tune of Strauss’ “Also Sprach Zarathustra”, or “2001” as Phish fans call it.

What Anastasio might be up to in The Barn is a mystery. He has been prolific during quarantine, releasing countless new songs on his social media pages. In addition, Phish released their new album Sigma Oasis back in April.

The Phish guitarist also recently caught up with Relix for our Power of Live issue, where he discussed Phish’s quarantine plans, his love of the community around the band and much more. Read our full interview with Anastasio here.
