Brooklyn’s psych-tinged roots rock quartet The Highway will release their second studio album on April 14. Today we are premiering “Circles” the second single from Enter to Exit, the follow-up to the group’s debut long-player, Forest People. The group tells Relix, “‘Circles’ is a song that was written with a repetitive music motif serving as the main layer and foundation for the lyrics to rest upon the hypnotic guitar riffs and reinforced by the lower and tribal tones of the drums that come later in the song. It’s pretty rock n roll and I’m glad it came out the way it did. Lyrically speaking I will always have a very special attachment to this song, since it carries along a good amount of rawness, reflecting a pretty honest side. I think most of the songs whether they are written by Ted or myself, you’ll be able to absorb that kind of picture, what you read is what we are, may it be about love or not love. Human interactions, I guess that’s what it comes down to.”
