Song Premiere: Bonerama “Good Times Bad Times” (Led Zeppelin Cover)

On April 26, New Orleans-based outfit Bonerama will release a collection of Led Zeppelin covers, appropriately dubbed Bonerama Plays Zeppelin, via Basin Street Records, and today we present the horn-fueled group’s powerful rendition of “Good Times Bad Times.”

“We’ve included Led Zeppelin songs in our live shows throughout our 20 year history and not only is it ton of fun to play trombone on Page, Plant, Jones and Bonham riffs, the audience seems to love it as well,” Mark Mullins, co-founder, trombonist (one of three) and lead vocalist for Bonerama, tells Relix. “Bringing people together with music they love through the voice and instrumentation of a New Orleans based brass funk rock band is very exciting to us. So in celebrating Led Zeppelin’s 50th anniversary this year we pulled together some favorites and some obscurities from their catalog to present as a entire full length CD and a vinyl album. It’s an exciting collection of music that probably hasn’t been heard quite like this before. Love representing our city with every note we play. Yeah you rite!”

Along with Mullins, Bonerama features fellow trombonists Craig Klein and Greg Hicks, plus guitarist Bert Cotton, bassist/sousaphonist Matt Perrine and drummer Walt Lundy, all of whose talents shine through in the bombastic cover of Zeppelin’s classic “Good Times Bad Times,” which can be heard below (the song also features Mark’s son Michael on guest vocals).
