Watch Margo Price Play the Third Man Records Rooftop in Nashville with Brandi Carlile and Lilly Hiatt
Margo Price surprised some Nashville fans on Thursday afternoon with a rooftop performance atop the home of her label Third Man Records, taking advantage of this week’s city-wide AmericanaFest by offering a unique concert that featured a couple of special guest spots from Brandi Carlile and Lilly Hiatt.
As Rolling Stone reports, the performance included tracks from both of Price’s albums, Midwest Farmer’s Daughter and last year’s All American Made, which was nominated for Album of the Year at the Americana Music Awards that took place in Nashville earlier this week.
Yesterday’s rooftop collaborations saw Price welcome Hiatt for a cover of The Beatles’ “Don’t Let Me Down”—a musical allusion to that band’s legendary 1969 performance atop Apple headquarters in London, which included that song—and Carlile for a take on Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5.”
Watch fan-shot video of the two tunes below. Margo Price will kick off a run of fall tour dates next month after playing a few festivals later this month, including her next show at the Outlaw Music Festival’s stop in Mansfield, MA, on September 21. See Price’s full schedule here.
