Listen: Father John Misty Covers Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” in the Style of Velvet Underground

Ryan Adams’ cover of Taylor Swift’s 1989 is all the rage on the internet today, and Father John Misty has thrown in his two cents with a Velvet Underground-esque take on Swift’s “Blank Space.” Armed with just an acoustic guitar and his voice, the singer-songwriter runs through a twangy rendition of the tune, with hopefully more to come.

“My interpretation from the classic Ryan Adams album 1989,” the former Fleet Fox wrote on Twitter. Josh Tillman can certainly lean into a solid cover of his own, as he recently took a swing at Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs” to fantastic results.
