The 10^th edition of the Hinterland Music Festival took place St. Charles, IA on Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3. The independent event, which is known for its low-key, affable vibe, expanded its main stage in 2025 while also increasing the size of the festival grounds as a whole. The roster of performers included Lana Del Rey, Kacey Musgraves, Tyler, the Creator, Clairo, Bleachers, Sierra Ferrell, The Marías, Remi Wolf, Glass Beams, Wyatt Flores, Still Woozy, Royel Otis, Role Model, Gigi Perez and many others.

Hinterland also is renowned for its family-friendly installations. The fest included a Miniland tent, which was air conditioned and shaded. Miniland offered children’s crafts and interactive art installations via Des Moines-based artist Ramona Muse-Lambert.

The event also has made an affirmative “Commitment to Climate Awareness” in noting, “The 10 hottest years on record have all occurred in the past decade. At Hinterland, we are committed to raising awareness about climate change and its impact on our daily lives. We will continue striving to make sustainable choices, both this year and in the years ahead. Together, we can make a difference.”

The festival will return in 2026 and is slated to take place from July 31-August 2.
