There haven’t been a better 1-2 punch to start a Dave Matthews Band show in recent memory quite like what they did on Saturday night, coming out with Before These Crowded Streets standouts “Pig” and “Last Stop,” two of their finest live songs. And it appears as if everyone, even the band members, were aware of the gravity of the start. 

Following the opening notes of the ultra rare “Last Stop,” played for just the fourth time since 2010, Lessard flashed a face at an audience member that brimmed with excitement before quickly snapping into gear to play the tune, which ranks as one of DMB’s most difficult compositions. Lessard also had some fun keeping up with Matthews, who stumbled on the lyrics and changes a couple of times.
