Dave Matthews Band Share Audio from Very First Show
Yesterday, Dave Matthews Band officially turned 25 years old as they played their first show together (with just a slightly different lineup) at TRAX in Charlottesville, VA, on March 14, 1991.
While the band will officially celebrate the anniversary with a massive tour this summer, the group did share audio of “Recently” from that very first show in 1991. For some time, there was some confusion about when exactly the band played their first show (it was commonly accepted that Earth Day ’91 was the first show) but bassist Stefan Lessard unearthed an earlier tape from TRAX that found the band playing a benefit concert for the Middle East Children’s Alliance.

Recently, Trax, Charlottesville, VA 3.14.199125 years ago today, DMB played their very first show together at TRAX as part of a benefit concert for the Middle East Children’s Alliance.
