On Monday night, Dead & Company offered a tribute to those affected by the school shooting at Parkland, FL’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and voter registration non-profit HeadCount has shared a backstage video of Bob Weir addressing students from the school before and during the show.

We already outlined how bassist Oteil Burbridge has responded to the tragedy, and now we see Weir doing his part, speaking with the students before the Florida show, which took place close to MSD High School, and during set break.

“You kids are creating quite a stir,” Weir says. “And it’s not the kind of thing that anyone can argue with, because you’re right.” The guitarist speaks about HeadCount and how the students would be perfect candidates to volunteer and get others registered to make a change regarding gun laws in the country. “Because, you know, you guys could save our democracy.”

Watch below (And can someone track down the selfie taken with John Mayer at 1:45, please?).
