Video Premiere: Brian Haas & Matt Chamberlain “Of Many, One”

August 5, 2013

Brian Haas and Matt Chamberlain have collaborated on new studio album. Frames, which is set for release October 15 through Kinnara/The Royal Potato Family features 11 compositions written for piano and percussion by Haas (Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey), who is joined by Chamberlain (Brad Mehldau, Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians, Critters Buggin) on all of these tracks, including “Of Many, One” which we debut today.
Haas, who grew in Oklahoma, recently relocated to New Mexico and he explains that this change in enviornment is reflected in Frames. “After several years of non-stop touring with my band Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey I felt completely drained. I was pulled to move to the high desert and mountains of Sante Fe, NM; the space/distance from the road, the unearthly view from my house and the strange hum of my new surroundings inspired this music. What started as an exercise in all 12 keys turned into Frames.”

Brian Haas will be taking Frames on the road in the fall, featuring a variety of established drummers, including Scott Amendola, Allison Miller, Johnny Vidacovich and Dave Wayne. Tour dates will be announced shortly.
