Bassnectar: Cozza Frenzy

DJ/producer Lorin Ashton will tell you that when he launched Bassnectar, it was equal parts social experiment and music project. It remains both but on his latest disc, Cozza Frenzy, we’re primarily concerned with the latter. As such, Bassnectar has never sunk lower – frequency-wise – which means that he takes this one higher, dance-therapy wise. A truly hard-hitting collection of cutting-edge beats, whomp, hip-hop, dubstep, electro and god only knows what else. It doesn’t have time to get bogged down by categorization and it doesn’t concern itself with sub-genres, as it defines itself by intensity alone. Yes, Cozza Frenzy is Bassnectar’s best disc yet.
