Lettuce have confirmed their New Year’s plans. The funk group will return to Miami Beach, FL’s The Miami Beach Bandshell for celebratory shows on December 30 and 31. The ensemble was previously slated to appear at the outdoor venue over New Year’s 2021-2022, but the shows were cancelled after the Omicron variant of COVID began surging. The group has played the Miami Beach Bandshell several other times, however, including sets at both the GroundUP Music and North Beach Music Festivals, a Jam Cruise pre-party show and on a bill with Steel Pulse.

In statement drummer Adam Deitch says, “Miami!! NYE will be one for the books!! 2 nites 4 sets of Funky music straight from our hearts to yours! Lett your squad know!!”

Bassist Erick “Maverick” Coomes added in the same event announcement, “Miami has the best beaches, restaurants and nightlife. I personally can’t wait to go back there for any reason at all but the best reason is Lettuce is playing 2 nights in a row at the Bandshell.”

A $1 charitable contribution will be included with every ticket sold through a partnership with the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Music Is A Language. The initiative supports Lettuce’s mission to fund a scholarship for a deserving student to attend the Berklee College of Music, where the group’s founding members initially met while attending a summer music program when they were still in high school.

Lettuce will kick off a multi-night run at San Francisco’s Miner Auditorium this evening. They will perform at the space daily through Sunday.
