The Steve Bardwil Band has shared the first look at their official music video for the new single, “Something With You,” with Relix. The exclusive watch presents viewers with a steady, melodic composition, complemented by award-winning producer Andrew van den Houten’s visual narrative, which enhances the track’s lyrical themes of longing and underscores the refrain: “Gonna turn nothing into something with you.”

Built on a will-they-won’t-they plot, the video oscillates between a developing encounter between a man and a woman in a packed bookstore and scenes of the band driving the sonic promise of a love connection. In the video, the two interested parties bat their eyelashes between shelves of stacked novels, romanticizing desire over three minutes.

Speaking on his idea for the song, Bardwil shares, “After I pondered philosophically that nothing comes from nothing… and we often turn nothing into something, including with respect to relationships of all kinds… business relationships, friendships and love relationships. Once that thought took hold, I focused on this concept of turning nothing into something in the context of a love relationship… and the song basically wrote itself.”

The new single was produced by a double-digit Grammy Award-winning producer, Joe Chiccarelli (Frank Zappa, Elton John, White Stripes), at Los Angeles’ East West Studios. It features the band’s lead vocalist, guitarist, and namesake, Steve Bardwil, joined by a dynamic group of musicians including Johnny Stachela (lead guitar), Max Butler (keys), Vince Fossett (drums), Aaron Leibowitz (saxophone), Catherine Jayne (vocals), and Frank Coglitore (bass).

The video develops into a meet-cute scenario derived from stolen glances. After both subjects cultivate on-screen interest, the male protagonist makes his move and engages with the gal who’s sparked his fixation. “Something With You” conveys a particular confidence, musically, visually, and as a representation of the band’s growing connection.

“We have had a blast performing the new songs before a live audience and watching folks smiling and heads bopping to the music. When we play the songs live we can deviate from the arrangements we played when we recorded them and go places with the music that we feel in the moment.”

The Steve Bardwil Band released their debut record, Nothing But Time, in 2025. The intimate set of Americana, alternative rock, soul, and blues tracks was co-written with Chiccarelli. “Something With You” renews Bardwil’s efforts with the former. Today’s single arrival comes ahead of the early summer promise of a new album.
