The Todd Wolfe Band: Live

Self-released

Blues meets psychedelic rock on The Todd Wolfe Band’s new live album. Fronted by guitarist and songwriter Wolfe, this 11-track live album (and companion DVD released November 2010) showcases the trio during a performance in Quakerstown, Penn. Wolfe, whose career spans 30 years including a stint as Sheryl Crowe’s guitarist, wrote or co-wrote almost all the songs. In addition to showcasing his writing, the album demonstrates the chemistry and tight playing between Wolfe, bassist Suavek Zaniesienko and drummer Roger Voss. In the live setting, these blues-infused jams get lengthy (most tracks clocking in over six minutes) but the band never seems to lose its audience. Changes in tempo and Wolfe’s prowess on the guitar keep it interesting, especially in the 14-minute closer “Shame,” the album’s highlight.
