YouTube and Paramount+ to Stream Taylor Hawkins London Tribute Concert

This morning it was announced that the first of two tribute concerts honoring the late Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins will be streamed on Paramount+ and YouTube. The tribute “all-star rock show” will take place at London’s Wembley Stadium on Sept. 3; the stream will start at 11:30 a.m. EST and 4:30 p.m. BST.

Paramount+ will provide the concert to viewers in the United States, while MTV’s YouTube will share the concert on a global scale. A global livestream will also be shared by Pluto TV. After the concert, CBS will share a one-hour special of highlight clips at 10 p.m. EST.

The list of all-star performers joining Foo Fighters in London includes Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, RUSH’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Queen’s Roger Taylor and Brian May, Liam Gallagher, Krist Novoselic of Nirvana, Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney, Queens of the Stone Age’s Joshua Homme and Alain Johannes, The Police’s Stewart Copeland, Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde, comedians Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock, and Bushell, Nile Rodgers, Wolfgang Van Halen, Omar Hakim, and members of Hawkins’ covers band Chevy Metal.

Recently Travis Barker, Lars Ulrich, Brian Johnson, Josh Freese, James Gang, Kesha, Violet Grohl, and Taylor’s son, Shane Hawkins, joined the London lineup.

The second tribute concert, which will take place at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Sept. 27, will welcome  P!NK, LeAnn Rimes, Nancy Wilson and Greg Kurstin. Jones, Johannes and Novoselic will also join the lineup. Los Angeles’ tribute show will welcome Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of RUSH, former band leader of Hawkins Alanis Morissette, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Rage Against the Machine’s Brad Wilk, Brian May and Roger Taylor, Queens of the Stone Age’s Joshua Homme and Jon Theodore, Joan Jett, Miley Cyrus, Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx, Copeland, Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney, Gene Simmons, Mark Ronson, Omar Hakim, Chevy Metal and more.

Ticket sales and merchandise sales from both concerts will go to the benefit of the charities Music Support and MusiCares, which were chosen by the Hawkins family.
