I’m With Her, the supergroup of folk singer-songwriters Aoife O’Donovan, Sarah Watkins and Sarah Jarosz, delivered their first performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday. The trio’s late-night appearance arrived in the wake of their well-earned Grammy wins for Best Folk Album and Best American Roots Performance and coincided with the unveiling of Sing Me Alive, a new live collection featuring highlights from 2025’s Wild, Clear and Blue and their 2018 debut, alongside a cover of Paul Simon’s “The Obvious Child” that anchored their televised set.
For their Colbert performance, I’m With Her stepped into the spotlight without a backing band and joined in the same fervent harmonies and richly interwoven strings that have become signatures of their passionate, deeply affecting Americana sound. The trio’s version of Simon’s The Rhythm of the Saints has figured into their live setlists since last October, and the televised rendition deftly navigated both its euphoric peaks and chilling contemplative breakdown, which powerfully demonstrates their lush, studied vocal melding. The artists’ own enjoyment is palpable, and it’s impossible not t simile along as the percussive breakdown accelerates into an explosive final chorus.
Sing Me Alive will arrive on April 17 via Rounder Records and is available to pre-order now. Hear the advance versions of “The Obvious Child” and “Mother Eagle (Sing Me Alive)” below and find more information on the trio at imwithherband.com.
