Unbroken Chain: A Celebration of the Life and Music of Phil Lesh Will Return to the Capitol Theatre in March with an All-Star Grahame Lesh & Friends Lineup

One of Phil Lesh’s longstanding traditions was his annual run of shows at Port Chester, N.Y.’s Capitol Theatre in conjunction with his March 15th birthday. Earlier this year, Lesh’s son Grahame took up the mantle following Phil’s passing. Grahame served as band leader for Unbroken Chain: A Celebration of the Life and Music of Phil Lesh, in which he honored his father’s legacy over four poignant, elevated evenings with a rotating cast of notable guest players.

On March 12-15, 2026 Grahame Lesh & Friends will return to the Cap for a second Unbroken Chain event. Once again, each performance will find Grahame paired with a unique group of collaborators who have a special relationship with Phil and his music.

The opening Grahame Lesh & Friends show will feature longtime Phil & Friends drummer John Molo, along with Daniel Donato, Luther Dickinson, Trevor Weekz, Alex Koford, Aron Magner, Cory Henry, Mikaela Davis and Amy Helm.

On Night two, Tony Leone will move behind the kit, while Oteil Burbridge, Bill Payne, Jason Crosby and Maggie Rose will join Lesh and returning players Donato, Davis and Helm.

March 14 will find Rick Mitarotonda, Nathan Graham, Holly Bowling and Kanika Moore, alongside Molo, Burbridge, Crosby, Helm, Rose and Lesh.

Finally, on what would have been Phil’s 86th birthday, Grahame Lesh & Friends will feature Stanley Jordan, Dave Schools, Cody Dickinson, Steve Molitz, Leone, Bowling, Moore and Helm.

Capitol Theatre owner Peter Shapiro reflects, “We feel really lucky that we are able to continue to celebrate Phil’s birthday and do it with Grahame. He will be leading an amazing group of musicians, many of whom previously joined Phil for his birthday shows at the Capitol. The tradition continues.”

Beyond all of the confirmed artists, additional special guests are expected each night. Unbroken Chain: A Celebration of the Life and Music of Phil Lesh will serve as a benefit for Sweet Relief.
