Back on March 10-12, the String Cheese Incident performed its Winter Carnival run at Colorado’s 1STBANK Center. On May 24, a digital compilation drawn from these shows will become available exclusively at iTunes. Winter Carnival 2011 presents 21 songs selected from the three nights. The release includes a cover of Billy Preston’s “Will It Go Round In Circles” with Tony Hall on bass, Ian Neville on guitar and Ivan Neville on keys (SCI bassist Keith Moseley appears on percussion) as well as the band’s debut takes on Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” and the Kyle Hollingsworth original “Rosie.” In addition, the compilation offers the first versions of “Blue Bossa” and “Give Me The Love” since the fall of 2006 and the first “Pygmy Pony” since November 17, 2000.
