Strand Book Store to Host ‘The Music Never Stops’ Book Event with Peter Shapiro and David Fricke

Strand Book Store has announced a forthcoming conversation with veteran concert promoter and author Peter Shapiro as he discusses his new book, The Music Never Stops: What Putting on 10,000 Shows Has Taught Me About Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Magic, which was co-authored by Relix editor-in-chief Dean Budnick. The event will take place on Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. at The Strand Bookstore’s 3rd-floor Rare Book Room.

David Fricke, senior editor and longtime writer at Rolling Stone will join Shapiro in conversation. The two music industry greats will discuss Shapiro’s debut novel, which gives readers an inside look at the author’s vivacious life experiences from operating Tribecca’s fabled Wetlands Preserve, to reopening the mythic Capitol Theatre and, inevitably, establishing a legacy with the various Brooklyn Bowl venues.

The Music Never Stops digs into these experiences through the lens of Shapiro’s 50 most iconic shows, which has earned him the title of “the most notable independent concert promoter since Bill Graham,” a sentiment affirmed in Variety

To attend the forthcoming event, folks can purchase a copy of The Music Never Stops: What Putting on 10,000 Shows Has Taught Me About Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Magic or buy a general admission ticket. Purchase tickets to the book event here.
