The Disco Biscuits Plot Hurricane Relief Benefit Concert in Atlanta

The aftermath of Hurricane Helene in September has left Western North Carolina in disarray as heavy downpours and winds disrupted vital infrastructure and cut off access to rural communities. In the wake of the disaster, the musical community of the Tar Heel State and beyond has banded together to present a vast array of benefit projects. Today, The Disco Biscuits become the latest to support the region’s recovery, announcing a benefit concert at Terminal West in Atlanta, Ga., on Nov. 3 in place of the group’s canceled Asheville show. To elevate the occasion, the jamtronica pioneers will play through the entirety of the fan-favorite 2011 album Otherwise Law Abiding Citizens.

The Disco Biscuits were originally slated to perform on Nov. 3 at Asheville, N.C.’s French Broad River Brewery–which has now launched a call for contributions of its own after being totally submerged by floodwaters. All proceeds from the band’s newly plotted replacement concert in Atlanta will be donated to Conscious Alliance, a multifaceted nonprofit organization focused on partnering with artists to direct food, funds and other assistance to communities in need; the organization’s efforts are now focused on those storied mountain towns fighting to recover from the destruction of Helene.

While supporting Asheville through their concert proceeds, The Disco Biscuits are also gearing up for a fall tour, which will begin on Oct. 30 in Covington, Ky. After a highly-anticipated three-night Halloween run at The Caverns in Pelham, Tenn., the band will head through the Northeast with notable stops at Brooklyn Steel on Nov. 9 and a two-night finale in Buffalo, NY, on Nov. 23–24. Further shows include a New Year’s Eve homecoming series, set at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on Dec. 30 and 31. For tickets and more information, visit discobiscuits.com.
