On Tuesday evening, Tedeschi Trucks Band began their highly anticipated Beacon Theatre residency in New York City. Last night’s concert found the 12-piece ensemble flaunting new material from their forthcoming LP, Future Soul, due on March 20, 2026, with a two-song debut featuring first-time live deliveries of “Hero” and “Under the Knife.” The husband and wife duo and their cast of musical conspirators then kept the momentum going during the concert’s second half, debuting Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s 1970s warning of government-heeded violence, “Ohio.”
The band found its footing during an “Anyhow” opener, and continued with “Playing With My Emotions.” In a sly arrangement of material, they positioned an early preview of their forthcoming album as the head of a three-piece beast that winked at the realities of their latest project, “I Got You,” which was first performed in front of a live audience on Aug. 23, 2025. In pursuit of more from the imminent release, they treated the Big Apple concert palace to debuts of “Hero” and “Under the Knife.”
From a batch of not-yet-released tracks, Tedeschi Trucks Band moved into two pieces off their 2013 LP Made Up Mind: “Part of Me” and “It’s So Heavy.” Next, they slapped a cover of the Allman Brothers Band’s “Stand Back” ahead of “Soul Sweet Song,” and ultimately kept with the sentimental angle during set one’s final selection, “Love Has Something Else to Say.” The latter represented a bust-out, last performed on Dec. 4, 2015.
The second half of the night led with a potent debut of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s warning of government-induced violence on the Kent State campus, “Ohio.” From one of the event’s most well-received moments, the group fed off the crowd’s energy during select originals, “Midnight in Harlem” and “La Di Da,” before moving into Trucks’ “Get What You Deserve.” Next, they pulled out a pair of Derek and the Dominos pieces, “Bell Bottom Blues” > “Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad?”
The setlist maintained affinity for material off I Am the Moon, which continued during the arrival of both “Circles ‘Round the Sun” and “Pasaquan.” In time, they lit up Tedeschi’s own “Just Won’t Burn,” before capping the frame after Dr. John’s “I Walk on Guilded Splinters.” For the evening’s encore, the band returned for a cover of “ Let the Good Times Roll” and their own “Made Up Mind.”
Last night’s series opener arrived after the band shared the news that they will release The Garden Party film, capturing their sold-out Madison Square Garden debut with special guests Phish’s Trey Anastasio, Norah Jones, and Lukas Nelson. A premiere screening of the film is set for Sunday, March 22, at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl location.
Tonight, the band continues their location-specific reign and kicks off the first of three Wednesday-specific guest appearances, with help from Steve Earle and Vincent Neil Emerson. Tickets are sold out for Tedeschi Trucks Band’s March 11 show at the Beacon. For more information, visit www.tedeschitrucksband.com.
