SummerStage Confirms Free 2021 Concert Series in NYC: Wynton Marsalis, Questlove’s ‘Summer of Soul,’ Patti Smith and More
New York City’s SummerStage is back this summer, with a slew of free, performances and screenings in New York City’s scenic parks.
Some of SummerStage’s free offerings include the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis (June 17), Gloria Gaynor (July 11), Sun Ra Arkestra (July 24), a screening of Questlove’s lauded documentary Summer of Soul (…Or When The Revolution Could Not Be Televised) on July 24, and Patti Smith on Sept. 19.
Previously announced paid performances at SummerStage include George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic (two shows, June 27), Galactic with Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph and MonoNeon (July 11), Lake Street Dive (Aug. 24), Indigo Girls & Ani DiFranco (Sept. 21) and many more.
According to organizers, “Live in-person limited capacity shows begin on June 17th – request tickets starting June 7 at 12 pm ET.”
