Today, Secret Machines have released a new double EP via FLOOD that includes a reissue of 2008’s Dreaming of Dreaming and a new collection of music dubbed Day 21. The group shared a total of six tracks, which are available to stream now.

Secret Machines is comprised of Brandon Curtis on guitar and Josh Garza on drums. The duo initially formed the band in Dallas and performed alongside Curtis’ brother Benjamin. He eventually departed from the group in 2007 to focus on his work with the School of Seven Bells.

From there, they shared additional work which led up to their previously released LP, Awake in the Brain Chamber. The group’s reissue of Dreaming of Dreaming draws from their 2008 repertoire, with tracks like “Daylight (Won’t be Long)” and “Dreaming of Dreaming.” In addition, they also shared a never-released version of “Dreaming of Dreaming,” which includes the Bad Seed’s Jim Sclavunos and guitar virtuoso Peter Mavrogeorgis. Moreover, Secret Machines have delivered three other tracks, “Day 21,” “Matrons” and “New Ordinance,” which collectively make up the Day 21 EP.

Sclavunos shared some thoughts on the recent collaboration with the band. He stated, “Secret Machines were one of the absolute coolest live bands from this wonderful era of the N.Y. scene. Getting to work with them in the studio was a thrill and a downright pleasure.”

In a press release shared by the band, they added that new music is on the horizon and can be expected later this year. For the latest on Secret Machines, visit their website
