February 16, 2017

Legendary Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters has dropped hints about his upcoming solo album, and today the musician announced a title for the project, Is This the Life We Really Want?. The effort will mark Waters’ fourth solo studio album and just his first since 1992’s Amused to Death.

On a video posted to Waters’ Facebook page, a sample of the music plays over a video of a document being redacted until it reveals the album title and the vague announcement “coming soon.” Waters previously shared a snippet of the record when he gave fans a glimpse of him and veteran Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich working in the studio via Instagram.

Waters will embark on his extensive Us + Them North American tour this summer and fall starting in late May, and the bassist said that the tour will consist of “25% new” material, so the new record may be released ahead of the dates. Upon announcing the tour dates, Waters also hinted that the some of the new album’s material will revolve around the theme of love.
