Premiere: Mom And Dad Share Fiery Video for “Video Games”

Mom And Dad have shared a new, fire-filled music video for “Video Games,” a track off their impending LP 21st Century Blues (out Nov. 1).

According to drummer Neal Evans, the “Video Games” shoot was Mom And Dad’s first experiment with video production and it utilizes both MIDI-controlled flame blasts (“Without getting into too much detail… when I hit the drum the flame goes ‘Boom!'”) as well as pre-set, sequenced flame blasts that were “incredibly hot.”

He adds, “Back when I was growing up in Colorado, my metal friends and I would go to our buddy’s land and do stupid things which involved setting things on fire, so it seemed the perfect place to film this video. Together with Johnny at Button Pusher Media, and a few extra friends to lug things around and drink beers, we made it happen and it’s one of the coolest and most bad-ass projects I’ve ever been a part of.”

Mom And Dad features Evans and bassist Chuck Jones (who also log time in Dopapod) as well as guitarist Ben Sword. They will celebrate the release of 21st Century Blues on Nov. 7 at the Larimer Lounge in Denver. For tickets and more information visit the trio’s official website at MomAndDad.band.
