Today, Weezer released Autumn, the third installment of their ongoing seasonally themed series, Sznz. Like the previous releases: Spring and Summer, the collection comes on the seasonal equinox and is comprised of seven songs. The final installment of Sznz is expected to release during the winter equinox on Dec. 21.

In an interview with The New York Times, Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo elaborated on the different feels throughout the project, citing that “Spring was the easy-breezy side of Weezer” while Summer “was more like ’90s alt-rock.” He went on to call Autumn “tricky,” saying the collection is “dance rock, which is not something we’ve traditionally been able to get away with.” He continued to share, “It’s really hard to make it both dance and rock and Weezer. It’s very easy for that to turn into something that nobody likes.”

The Los Angeles-formed rocked band was planning a residency on Broadway set for this month but recently shared on Discord that the shows were canceled due to low ticket sales and high ticket prices. Cuomo wrote, “I’m very sorry to be telling you this now after we’ve already invested so much time, thought, and emotion. Extra apologies to those of you who cleared schedules and made travel plans to be with us.”
