LCD Soundsystem Release First Song in Five Years, Announce 20-Show Return to BK Steel

LCD Soundsystem pulled out all the stops today, releasing their first song in five years, titled “new body rhumba,” along with announcing their return to New York’s Brooklyn Steel for a 20-show residency.

“new body rhumba” was written by James Murphy, Pat Mahoney, and Nancy Whang and produced by Murphy for DFA Productions. The song is will be used in Noah Baumbach’s upcoming dark comedy White Noise, which premiered this year at Venice Film Festival and will release in theaters on Nov. 25 and on Netflix on Dec. 30.

In addition to this first offering since 2017’s Grammy-winning American Dream, the musical collective announced they’ll return to Brooklyn Steel for a 20-show residency starting on Dec. 4. The return to the venue, which they opened with three runs back in 2017 and performed at in late 2021, marks the latest residency from LCD Soundsystem following extended stays in London, San Francisco, Boston and Philadelphia this year.

LCD Soundsystem will perform at Brooklyn Steel on Nov. 18, 19, 21, 22, 26, 27, 29, 30 and Dec. 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16 and 17. It’s notable that the Nov. 27, 29 and 30 shows will be on sale exclusively to American Express Card Members and that the Dec. 4 show will mark LCD Soundsystem’s 50th show at Brooklyn Steel.

Tickets for the shows will go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. ET, find tickets here. The exclusive American Express Card Members shows will be onsale during Amex® Early Access on Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. ET through Oct. 6 at 10 p.m. ET.
