John Mayer Sets Release Date for New Solo Album, ‘Sob Rock’

John Mayer has confirmed the newest installment to his solo catalog, Sob Rock, out July 16.
Mayer teased the album – his first full release since 2017’s The Search for Everything – earlier this year, writing via TikTok, “My album is recorded, mixed and mastered. I’ve just been chilling and sharing it with friends for the past couple of months.”
Additionally, Mayer has confirmed he will release new music from the album this Friday, June 4.
In a sardonic magazine cover, the guitarist acknowledged his delay in sharing new tunes, noting cheekily, “Did I say April? I meant June.”
Mayer will also hit the road with Dead & Company this year, performing two weekends in Mexico as well as a full summer tour.
