On Monday, March 29, keyboardist Marco Benevento and drummer Joe Russo performed a pop-up acoustic set at Relix Studio in New York City. The intimate performance was streamed for free on The Relix Channel on Twitch. The entire set is now available to watch on the Relix YouTube channel.

The pop-up set marked a rare acoustic performance by the Duo. The two first began performing as a duo back in 2001. They subsequently released four studio records, including 2005’s Best Reason to Buy the Sun and 2006’s Play Pause Stop.

Benevento/Russo Duo will return to the Relix Studio stage on Saturday, Apr. 3 for another acoustic performance. The show will be available to stream as a pay-per-view event on FANS.live.

According to a description of the show on FANS, “the Duo will focus on material from their seminal recordings, Best Reason To Buy The Sun and Play, Pause, Stop.” In fact, those who purchase the livestream will have the option to bundle in vinyl reissues of the two records.

Benevento and Russo also perform together in Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, who recently announced a three-night, socially distanced run at New Haven’s Westville Music Bowl. The band will perform there on May 28, 29 and 30.
