In tandem with the Americana Music Foundation, the Grammy Museum will present an intimate conversation featuring Bettye LaVette and Steve Jordan. The event will occur on Wednesday, May 31, and will be moderated by Relix Editors-in-Chief Dean Budnick and Mike Greenhaus.

During the impending discussion, the group will traverse topics pertaining to LaVette’s forthcoming album, the Jordan-produced LaVette!, due out on June 16 via Jay-Vee Records. The new collection pulls in original compositions by Randall Bramblett, which the acclaimed soul singer has reimagined.

LaVette’s aforementioned album includes the stylings of Pino Palladino on bass, Larry Campbell and Chris Bruce on guitars and Leon Pendarvis on keyboards, with guests John Mayer, Jon Batiste, Anthony Hamilton, Steve Winwood, Ray Parker Jr., Rev. Charles Hodges, James Carter and Pedrito Martinez.

In addition to a conversation about LaVette!, the music industry mainstays will also touch on LaVette and Jordan’s creative processes, careers and more. Following the back-and-forth, the musician will participate in a performance at The Greene Space at WNYC and WQXR in New York City.

LaVette and Jordan are two of the many artists featured in the Grammy Museum’s Big Apple program series, which brings the renowned Grammy In The Schools Education Programs and Public Programs to the East Coast in partnership with the City of New York Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
