On Saturday, March 28, Jam in the Streets returned to Washington Street in Downtown Athens, Ga., for its seventh annual benefit festival. The nonprofit organization’s 2026 presentation built on its rising profile with its largest single-day festival yet, led by this year’s first performance from Goose. With their eagerly anticipated return to the stage, the indie jam stars worked through a full set and encore of established fan favorites and scattered covers, including a tribute to the late Bob Weir.

Goose set off their first show of 2026 with a soothing take on “Hot Tea,” then dashed into the 2021 Shenanigans Nite Club standout “Flodown.” The first frame continued with a rapid-fire rotation through other essentials like “Hot Love & The Lazy Poet,” “Madalena,” “Hungersite,”  their honed cover of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes’ “Don’t Leave Me This Way” and finally a set-closing culmination of “Give It Time,” the moody jam vehicle from their 2025 studio album Everything Must Go.

Goose returned to the stage for their encore with an homage to the immortal legacy of a formative inspiration. “One More Saturday Night,” the Bob Weir-penned Grateful Dead classic, had been performed by the quartet last on New Year’s Eve of 2021, and the song set an inspirational and emotive tone for the remainder of the frame, carried out through a heavily improvised medley of “The Empress Of Organos” and Otis Day & The Knights’ “Shama Lama Ding Dong.”

Goose’s headline set supported Jam for Cam, the nonprofit organization established in 2018 in honor of Cameron Fearon, a University of Georgia student who passed away from melanoma at 19 years old. 100% of the proceeds from the event will advance the organization’s mission to fight melanoma through awareness, education and research. In 2025, Jam for Cam welcomed 15,000 attendees and raised $520,000 for charities including the Melanoma Research Foundation and Camp Carolina; Goose’s appearance in the streets of Downtown Athens on Saturday drew a crowd of more than 25,000. Goose will set off their spring tour on April 10 with a kickoff from Asheville, N.C.’s ExploreAsheville.com Arena, then race through 12 more shows in the Southeast before flying out to their second annual Viva El Gonzo destination festival.
