Indie groove fans rejoice: Goose and Mt. Joy are teaming up for a co-headline performance. For one-night-only, the rapidly rising jam quintet (now currently a quartet) and the jam-adjacent folk-rock indie darlings will team up to take the stage at Madison, Wis.’s Kohl Center on Sept. 17.

With so much overlap in their style and audience, it’s no small wonder that Goose and My. Joy are taking their relationship to the next level. The groups crossed paths first when frontman Rick Mitarotonda joined Mt. Joy for their inaugural Out of the Blue festival, then did it again at their second-annual event in January. From the stage at Cancún, Mexico’ Moon Palace, Goose’s guitar ace added flair to the band’s 2019 Rearrange Us entries “Let Loose,” which included a snippet of Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last Dance,” and “I’m Your Wreck” before going out with a bang on that album’s title track.

A collaborative post from the bands put the evening’s appeal succinctly: “Let’s get weird.”

Goose will return to the stage tonight for the second show of their three-night run at GLC Live at 20 Monroe in Grand Rapids, Mich. For more information on the band’s ongoing tour, visit goosetheband.com/tour.

Tickets for the Goose x Mt. Joy staging will become available through a presale Next Thursday, Feb. 20. A general on-sale will begin on Friday, Feb. 21. Find tickets and more information here.
