George Porter Jr. to Join Soulive at Brooklyn Bowl in July

Relix has announced that in celebration of the Brooklyn Bowl’s 13th Anniversary, it will host three rescheduled nights of Soulive, on July 7 through 9 at the popular Brooklyn, N.Y. venue. The final two evenings, July 8 and 9, will feature an elaborate display of funk-ability with the help of legendary musician George Porter Jr.

Initially, the run of shows was slated to take place at the end of last year, on Dec. 29-31, and also function as a New Year’s Eve event, but following an influx of COVID-19 cases, the ensemble, like many at the time, made the tough decision to postpone the event till surges mellowed out.

Soulive – comprised of Eric Krasno on guitar, Alan Evans on drums and Neal Evans on the keyboard – have collaborated with leading industry titans along with GPJ, including Chaka Khan, Dave Matthews, Ivan Neville and The Roots. Their three-night July stand will further exemplify the unit’s groove-heavy jams with the addition of The Meters’ giant.
