The French Quarter Festival has unveiled its 2021 dates. Typically held in April, the New Orleans festival is pivoting to a set of dates in the early Fall. The event will occur Sept. 30 through Oct. 3.
According to OffBeat Magazine, there was speculation that the event would cancel its 2021 edition; the organizers instead opted to push the usual April date back. The magazine also reported that the festival would return to its traditional April dates.
“Although French Quarter Fest typically takes place in April, the ongoing COVID crisis has made it necessary for us to remain flexible,” said Emily Madero, CEO of FQFI (quote via OffBeat). “As one of the largest free music and food festivals in the United States, we always want to ensure our impact is in the best interest of the City and our French Quarter neighbors and businesses.”
