Broken Bells Unveil First Single “Were Not In Orbit Yet…,” Off Forthcoming LP ‘Into The Blue’

Broken Bells have shared a preview of their forthcoming album Into The Blue, the follow-up to 2014’s After the Disco. The new single, “We’re Not In Orbit Yet…” was released along with an accompanying music video. Watch below.
“We’re Not In Orbit Yet…” takes its time to move through space as the duo delivers a loft melody and sound with emulated elements of sirens which cast overall darkness on the track. As the title alludes, the song is an interstellar trope of sound and sensation mastered by James Mercer (The Shins) and Brian Burton (Danger Mouse).
Alongside the single, the Johnny Chew directed music video boasts ominous ever-changing imagery of industrial space paired with scenes of daily life and an occasional glimpse at Mercer crooning the spellbinding lyrics.
