Bob Dylan continued on Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Country Music Festival tour over the weekend, peppering a pair of California sets with memorable moments. Beginning on Saturday, August 3, the one-time Greenwich bard welcomed Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recipient (for his time in the Paul Butterfield Blues Band) Elvin Bishop, who contributed to Dylan’s Tempest track, “Early Roman Kings” and an ensuing rendition of Time Out of Mind pull, “Can’t Wait.”

Beyond Bishop’s aid, Dylan started the set with an incomplete “Highway 61 Revisited” and a shortened rendition of “Soon After Midnight.” Also included was an instrumental take on “Love Sick,” which featured the lead artist on piano throughout the fan favorite. Throughout the years, reports have associated Dylan’s history electric set at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, which was said to be inspired by the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

During Dylan’s appearance at Shoreline, he kept the mystique high, donning a blonde wig tucked under a beanie despite temperatures surpassing 80 degrees. As a follow-up to the Bay Area concert, the traveling festival pulled into the Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland, Calif. There, Dylan dusted off a mid-frame “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Come” for the first time since June 17, 2017, at Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Del. Scroll down to listen to a fan recording of the first performance of “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Come” in seven years.
