On Oct. 11, Marcus King brought his Young Blood tour to the Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco. The single-set performance featured a variety of material from across King’s solo repertoire, as well as a few choice covers sprinkled in throughout the night.

King’s stand in The Golden City got underway with “It’s Too Late” before the musician moved into “Trouble Man” and “Blood on the Tracks.” “Whisper” was played next and came before an exquisite rendition of “One Day She’s Here” off the 2020 album El Dorado

The night continued with material from 2022’s tour namesake with the tracks “Rescue Me” and “Lie, Lie, Lie.” Mixed into the main set were takes on Jesse Belvin’s “Guess Who” and The Marshall Tucker Band’s “Take the Highway.”

For his encore, King returned to the stage and dug into Leon Russell’s “Delta Lady,” followed by original material on “The Well,” which saw a return to the Russell-written track to cap off the night.
